Admissions Process

Admission to Our School

Every learner admitted to our school has an EHCP or is in the process of receiving one. The majority of our learners are offered a placement through the consultation process with a local authority. They are commissioned by the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) support team.

Consultation Process

Our school receives consultations from the local authority. These can be either through local authority preference  or as parental preference.

Parents can choose for our school to be consulted as part of the consultation process if their child's current school has agreed they can't meet their needs. We encourage parents to visit to have a tour, and chat about their child's needs and our core offer, if you're considering a specialist placement.

If we receive consultation paperwork from the local authority to check if we can meet your child's needs within our school, we complete an initial review of all their paperwork. If, after an initial reading of the paperwork, we feel we can meet your child's needs, a member of our team will contact you to make an appointment to tour our school.

We would like to meet you and your child before we return the paperwork as we feel your input is invaluable to the decision-making process.

Placement Agreement

Once a placement has been agreed, a member of the team will be in contact to make an appointment for the placement plan meeting. The meeting focusses on finding out more about your child, their needs and how we can best support them, including the transition plan into school.
