Funfit

Fun Fit is a physical activity and movement-based intervention designed to support learners who need additional support with coordination, strength, balance and overall physical development. The programme provides fun, engaging activities that focus on motor skills, as well as improving confidence and body awareness for learners. Sessions are delivered in small groups to ensure individual support and encouragement, whilst feeling comfortable and motivated to take part. The intervention uses activities such as sensory circuits, active wall and fun games that work on motor skills, whilst ensuring the session keeps the children engaged.

The aim of the Fun Fit programme is to help our learners improve their ability in physical activity in a supportive and enjoyable environment, whether this be building their confidence to take part in PE lessons, or to progress individual motor skills that they may need work on.

Fun Fit has had a positive impact on learners in our school, whereby attending these regular sessions has helped build on motor skills, which ultimately have improved the learner's confidence in their ability to take part in PE lessons/physical activity. The programme has also worked to support behaviour and concentration, where small sessions of regular activity can help learners regulate and provide a needed movement break throughout the day.
