Virtual Reality
With Virtual Reality (VR) we aim to create an inclusive, engaging and accessible learning environment for all learners. In doing so, we try to remove barriers faced in learning by aiming to enhance engagement and motivation by offering hands-on, experiential learning. By allowing learners to explore environments and situations that may be difficult to experience in real life, we aim to support deeper understanding of ideas and topics that would otherwise just be concepts.
The outcomes of using VR in our school include increased participation, improved focus, and greater accessibility to the curriculum. Our learners have often demonstrated higher curiosity levels in VR leading to an advanced understanding of the topic than they would get in a traditional classroom, because of higher retention. Additionally, VR supports differentiated learning by allowing experiences to be tailored to individual needs, enabling all learners to progress at their own pace.
Elanor - Virtual Reality Practitioner
I work with teaching staff, planning and running VR lessons, integrating our curriculum into VR spaces so that our learners can get an expanded understanding of these concepts and ideas. Our school’s VR lessons help learners explore environments and concepts that may otherwise be difficult to access in traditional classroom settings or as a result of their needs.
